Day 1: Arusha - Lake Manyara National Park
Your safaris will start from 0830am and drive on tarmac road 130km (2hrs) with lunch box to Lake Manyara National Park (330 sq km) on the base of the Great Rift Valley, for the Morning & Afternoon game drives. More than 400 bird species have been recorded, and even a first-time visitor to Africa might reasonably expect to observe 100 of these in one day. Highlights include thousands of pink-hued flamingos on their perpetual migration, as well as other large water birds such as pelicans, cormorants and storks. The park is home to Lion, Hippo, Elephant, Zebra, Buffalo, Giraffe, Baboon, Blue and Vervet monkey, Warthog and more. This small park contains also five distinct vegetation zones. Thus supporting a large variety of birds and animals. In this park canoeing has recently been added to the tourist activities in this park at extra cost. This is a great way to see the park from a new perspective. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.
Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park - Serengeti National Park
The breakfast will be at 0600am. Pick up from the Camp at 0700am and drive to the Great Serengeti National with your Picnic Lunch Packed and game drives en route via Ngorongoro Crater rim. The Serengeti National Park the home to lion, leopard, Elephant, Cheetah, Buffalo, Zebra, Wildebeest, Eland, Wild dog, Gazelles, Crocodiles and more. Serengeti is one of the most comprehensive and appealing internet presentations on nature, conservation and research in general. Every day, hundreds of nature-lovers and tourists from all over the world visit the virtual Serengeti. Day 3: Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, continues with both morning and afternoon game drives in Serengeti National Park. Remember this is the migration safari, so as Serengeti is very large as your game drives will depend on the move of the migrants, your guide knows very well how to locate the herds. The Serengeti National Park is famous for the 'Great Migration', over one million wildebeest and two hundred thousand plus zebras each year follow the rains. In October and November they travel from the mountains of the north, southwards to the plains seeking lush pastures. After the great rainy season in April, May, and June the herds then make their return ward journey. Even without this mass migration, the Serengeti is still an exciting and spectacular place that still cannot fail to enthrall Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Sopa Lodge
Day 4: Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Crater Rim
Wake up at early 0600hours for early morning game drives in Serengeti at 0900 hours back to the Lodge for breakfast. Here in the Serengeti region you can often watch wildebeest and zebras next to lions and other big cats such as leopards and cheetahs. Lunch is taken at a picnic spot before a slow drive to the Ngorongoro Crater. On the way you will pass the Olduvai Gorge where the English pair, Louis and Mary Leak pioneered excavation work. In the sixties some of the earliest archaeological deposits of human evolution was found and a small museum (visit optional) documents these discoveries. Then check out and drive with lunch and game viewing en route to Ngorongoro Crater Rim. Dinner and Overnight at the Serengeti Sopa Lodge
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Floor - Arusha
Wake up early morning for breakfast then at 0730hours drive to Ngorongoro Crater where you will descend into the Crater floor (19.2 km of diameter, 610m deep, 304 sq km) for game drives. All the Big five Rhino, Lion, Leopard, Buffalo and Elephant live in this wonderful caldera, and many more mammals. Birds include flamingos on the Soda lake, Geese, Storks, Vultures and more. Break for lunch at Ngoitoktok spring Picnic site. Ngorongoro Crater is often called 'Africa's Eden' the '8th Natural Wonder of the World'. A massive extinct volcano, its towering tree lined walls drop thousands of feet to a "Noah's Ark" of animals on the verdant floor below. Nowhere else can such a diversity in wildlife be experienced in such a short period of time. After lunch proceed with game viewing while ascending the Crater and drive to Arusha.
